
Sarawak Labour Ordinance and Sabah Labour Ordinance for HR Practitioners – Webinar
The roles played by HR Practitioners in understanding the Human Resources Policies and Procedures is crucial in any organisation. Ability to address the disciplinary issue at the earliest stage is important as it deals directly with their subordinates or employees.
As the Employment Act (EA) 1955 forms the primary legislation (Statute) on employment in Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan, providing guidelines on minimum employment rules, within which to operate Businesses.
This training focuses on Sarawak Labour Ordinance Chapter 76 (SLO 76) and Sabah Labour Ordinance Chapter 67 (SLO 67) which was amended to align with EA 1955 and International Labour Organisation. This training focuses on managing workplace in line with the Employment Act 1955 and both Ordinances. From 2007, the Human Resource Ministry has been studying and reviewing to amend 2 major laws in an effort to keep up with managing industrial harmony.
Upon completion of this programme, participants will be able to:

About The Trainer
Mr. Sulaiman Husin

Sulaiman has over 25 years of experience in core Human Resources (HR) across various industries, including telecommunications, capital markets, sales, consulting, manufacturing, services, banking, and regulatory authorities.
Since 2011, he has led multiple transformation projects for the Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA). From 2001 to 2005, he was involved in the eGovernment HRMIS project, serving as the Change Management and Learning & Development Lead at Irshad Consulting Sdn Bhd.
His last position was as Head of HR and Internal Consultant at Labuan FSA, where he managed various human capital initiatives. Currently, he leads several consulting projects, including serving as a Business Coach for State Economic Development Corporation subsidiaries, helping them develop high-performance organisations.
