Sponsorship Specialist

Job Summary

The Sponsorship Specialist is responsible for driving sponsorship, exhibition and strategic partnership revenue across the MHRF conference portfolio. The role leads the full sponsorship sales cycle – from prospecting and proposal development to negotiation, closing, collection support and account renewal – while developing long-term corporate partnerships that create recurring commercial value across multiple conferences.

 

Job Descriptions

  1. Sponsorship Sales & Revenue
  • Sell sponsorship, exhibition and commercial partnership packages across conferences, seminars, forums and executive events.
  • Proactively identify and approach prospective sponsors through calls, email, networking, referrals and industry research.
  • Conduct sponsor meetings, present commercial opportunities and convert qualified prospects into confirmed partners.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sponsorship and partnership revenue targets.
  1. Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
  • Identify new sponsor categories, industries and strategic accounts relevant to the MHRF conference portfolio.
  • Develop multi-conference, annual and portfolio partnership opportunities.
  • Build relationships with senior decision-makers including Marketing, HR, Technology, Finance, Business Development and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Generate repeat and expanded business through structured account development.
  1. Sponsor Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned sponsors and partners throughout the sales and renewal cycle.
  • Work closely with Conference Production, Marketing and Operations to ensure agreed sponsor entitlements are clearly communicated and delivered.
  • Conduct post-event sponsor reviews and actively pursue renewals, upsells and cross-conference opportunities.
  1. Pipeline, Proposals & Reporting
  • Prepare sponsorship proposals, quotations, commercial packages and relevant sales documentation.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activities, opportunity stages, values and expected close dates.
  • Track pipeline coverage, conversion rates, contracted revenue, invoicing status and collection progress.
  • Prepare accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts and performance reports for the Conference Director.
  1. Market Intelligence & Commercial Development
  • Monitor competitor events, sponsorship pricing, market trends and sponsor activity.
  • Gather sponsor feedback to improve packages, inventory, pricing and value propositions.
  • Identify new monetisation opportunities including exhibition, branded experiences, content partnerships, roundtables and portfolio-wide partnerships.

 

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Communications, Event Management, or any related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in sponsorship sales, conference/event sales, exhibition sales, media sales, partnerships, business development, or a related B2B commercial role.
  3. Experience in the conference, events, media, exhibition or professional services industry is highly preferred.
  4. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sponsorship, partnership or B2B revenue targets.
  5. Strong prospecting, presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
  6. Experience developing sponsorship proposals and tailoring commercial solutions for corporate clients.
  7. Ability to engage confidently with senior executives, marketing leaders, business heads and C-suite decision-makers.
  8. Strong pipeline management, forecasting and CRM discipline.
  9. Commercially driven with strong understanding of account development, upselling, renewal and cross-selling.
  10. Strong communication skills in English.
  11. Ability to work across multiple conferences and commercial opportunities concurrently.
